EcoStats

A student energy startup pairing an installed device with a data analytics engine. $500 in funding.

EcoStats paired an installed device with a data analytics engine. Market research pointed to 10% energy savings, and the $500 went toward a working model.

The Problem

Energy savings are easy to promise and hard to prove. EcoStats set out to deliver both: an installation that saves energy, and the data to show it.

What I Built

EcoStats paired an energy-saving installation with a data analytics engine. As founder and CEO from January to August 2024, I led the company and ran the market research behind its claim of 10% energy savings.

TODO(shawn): LinkedIn describes an “electromagnetic clank installation”. What is the device? Fix the wording here and on LinkedIn.

Results

Market research pointed to 10% energy savings. EcoStats won $500 in funding to take the project to the model and production stage.

Limitations

  • Savings are a research figure, not a measured result. LinkedIn calls the 10% “guaranteed”; it is reported here as what the market research indicated.
TODO(shawn): confirm the location (Cincinnati?) and what happened to EcoStats after August 2024.
